The challenge

Outdated, slow data flows and a Data Warehouse that no longer matched the speed of the operation. Slow load times, manual ETL processes, limited flexibility, no reusable data layer, lots of duplication.

Our approach

Migration from Azure to AWS. Setting up reusable data structures. Use of AWS Glue, Redshift, S3 and Pentaho. Rebuilding ETL pipelines. Design of DWH layers. Visualization via Power BI. Automation and governance.

As the largest mail and parcel carrier in the Netherlands, PostNL processes millions of transactions, shipments and customer interactions every day. To realize their data-driven ambitions, the underlying architecture had to be able to scale with them.
