What are overhead costs? How are they calculated?
Overhead costs are 10% + 10% + 10%. 10% is Sales & Marketing costs. 10% for Recruitment & Facility costs. 10% for vacancy costs/bank fees and management.
Why is my lease budget being deducted from my bonus?
All of the employee’s expenses are skimmed off the bonus, which is the Midlance model. That’s what the 70/30 represents. At other companies, it may be 40/60. Then you keep less, but have a lease budget paid for by the company.
Why are my phone and laptop deducted from my bonus and added back later?
In the bonus calculation, all expenses incurred by a consultant are skimmed off. In the salary account, these are reimbursed again by IBS. These phone and expense reimbursements are net reimbursements then provided by IBS.
What about if you don’t have an assignment? Are these costs then deducted as well? Why yes/no?
If you are in the void, your base salary is paid. Expenses are paid by the 10% vacancy budget that is in the 30% overhead.
What about vacation days? If I go on vacation for two weeks, in the calculation I could no longer get a bonus. However in my contract I do have vacation days, how about that?
When you go on vacation, you get a salary. That includes these vacation days. You also get vacation pay for that. The weeks in the month that are left over, that’s where you get paid your bonus.
How does it work with the cost of the car if I don’t get a bonus?
Then you pay the cost of the car from your base salary. You may choose to temporarily surrender the car.
What about travel expenses if I don’t get a bonus yet? Will that also be deducted from my basic income?
Travel expenses are deducted from your bonus when you have an assignment, but not from your basic income when you have no assignment and therefore no bonus.
Should you pay more tax on your bonus than on your basic income?
Yes, the bonus is taxed more than primary income according to the government, but at the end of the year you can include your bonus when you report your taxable income and get more money back. So you end up paying the same amount of tax on your bonus.
What about the 60 month contract of the car? What if I want to get rid of the car/go away from IBS sooner?
Then you either have to pay a penalty, or a new employer can take over the car. You could also repurchase the car yourself, only that is often not advantageous.
Where should I claim travel expenses?

Where do I build up a pension? And can I also contribute more to my pension myself?
The pension is regulated at Stipp pension and for the first period of 6 months it is a basic contribution, after that there will be a contribution of your own depending on your earnings, but thus also a contribution from IBS.
I heard that I can buy products for work from my gross salary, how does that work?
Work related purchases (Keyboard, office chair, etc.) you can ask René in advance, when you have permission to do so you can indicate this to Janneke Teil (support@jtbh.nl) and it will be deducted from your gross salary.
